Funny Friday

Sometimes in life, humor comes in different ways. Today, it was the stacking of Costco sized food portions (all things that we'll PLOW through) that made me chuckle a bit.  I realized we have a teen who is burning calories like crazy and a 10yo who is playing a lot of baseball and hitting a growth spurt. I am thankful we are able to buy things to eat.
And one more photo, just because they asked me to snap a picture.  Please look over the graininess of the photo (I really need to start figuring out how to take good photos consistently!)
Happy Friday!

Happiest of Fridays!

Got to sleep in some today, well sort of. Body woke up to early and I realized I was hungry! That is one thing that is hard to ignore, role over and go back to sleep. After a bit of toast, went back and slept till almost 8:00. That felt really good! Not sure what all today holds. There is the usual: school, TKD, the occasional Friday Night Baseball practice, some cleaning. Hope to put some fun into the day as well.

What do you do to add a bit of fun in a day?  Especially when there isn't a large chuck of time to go somewhere.  I've mulling over putting a tent up on the deck (only flat surface in our back yard - the patio isn't fully flat either), pumping up an air mattress to let the boys have some fun out there.

Switching topics, do you blog on blogger?  Do you have the facebook, pinterest, and email buttons near the top of your site?  How did you get them?  Would like to add those too!

Hope you'll leave a comment, do enjoy reading them!

Dreaming

of next school year, the school books, the new crayons, the new pencils, the new ~ wait a minute we homeschool there aren't always new crayons or pencils when we have a bazillion collected over the last few years (thanks Grandpa and Grandma for the LARGE donation to each boy a few Christmas' ago).

I am dreaming of texts books and planners and field trips and art projects and getting out more and making school so much fun.

What do YOU do to make school fun?  What kinds of tricks do you keep up your sleeve?  I need help with getting "the fun on" for next year.

Here are some of my ideas thus far:
  • hoping for a field trip a month, possibly themed around month, season, or unit study
  • designing school logo for t-shirt, sweat shirts, pj bottoms (for the all important pj school days)
  • more art & science because the boys love that stuff
  • having FuN fRiDaYs by cooking, exploring, science, art
  • during the winter, more stay at home days with a fire going (will have to see how Speech and O/T fit into that)
Please leave some suggestions in the comments so I can come back and get inspired.

Thanks!
